Week 53

So to start off, Hermana Boully, my ex-companion from Talca, got hit by a bus this last week. She's fine. Don't panic! She was on divisions with Hermana Williams and they were riding in the street because we can't ride on the sidewalk near the big stores. So they were hugging the curb, riding in the street, and they headed through a stoplight that had just changed from red to green. There was a bus behind them that had luckily slowed down a little for the red light, but it still hit Hermana Boully pretty hard. She went down and got scraped up pretty good on her knee and leg, and she has various bruises. The bus driver stopped, brushed her off and told her to stay out of the street (even though it was HIS fault for driving so close to the curb). Hermana Boully quickly told him that she was fine to keep him from touching her anymore, so he got in the bus and left. She went to the doctor in Rancagua to get her knee cleaned up and looked at because she got a lot of rocks under her skin. I've got pictures!

So this has been a really hard week, emotionally speaking. One of our investigators came out of her house and told us that she thought about it, and she's decided that she will never be baptized, she never wants to come to church, and she doesn't want us to visit her again. Hermana Williams and I were so shocked. All I could manage was, "Have you been praying?" She said, "No. Because I don't want to. I don't want anything. You can have your book back." We told her that she could keep the book, and that we would be around if she ever needed our help with something. Hermana Williams and I fell to pieces after that. It was a pretty hard hit for both of us. We still suffer some repercussions of that day when we see her in the street. It's really uncomfortable.

HOWEVER! There's always a hurricane before the rainbow, right?

We found some REALLY nice people who seem to be pretty receptive to what we're teaching, so we're just going to go teach them. Our most promising person right now is Andres. He's really cool and super receptive. But we haven't had the chance to teach him a lesson yet because he lives alone it's hard to make an appointment that we can coordinate with a member because his work hours are so all over the place. But he's really, really good. We also found a girl named Elizabeth, from Columbia, who is really nice. She told us that she would receive us this next week if we wanted to come teach her. We ALSO found a mom of four who is a baptist, but told us that she'll let us come and teach her and her family. She just has to coordinate a day with her husband because he works all the time.

So, yeah. We're sad for the losses that we experienced, but you just have to keep moving forward because Heavenly Father always has people prepared. :)

In other news, there are all kinds of Santa Clauses riding around in the street in my sector these days. People have got their lights up and you can hear Christmas music in every store. At least they don't put out the Christmas stuff in September like we do in the states. hahaha!

And lastly, I hit my one year mark on December 3rd. Holy cow, I'm old. Anyways, that's all for now. Sorry for the relatively short email this week.

Love you! Chaoooooo!!!!
